Sumeru Project: A Distinctive Building on a Prime Location in Idar, Gujarat
Located on the main highway in the hilly region of Idar, Gujarat, the Sumeru Project is a prime example of how a building can be designed to cater to multiple segments such as retail, offices, hospitals, and more. As an architecture and interior design firm, we were approached by the client to design a distinctive building that would stand out on this prime location.
Our design approach for the Sumeru Project was to keep the architecture simple yet elegant, with the use of brick masonry and exposed RCC texture. One of the key challenges was the south-facing orientation of the building, which led us to incorporate brick louvers to cut down on sun exposure. This not only provides a functional benefit but also adds an aesthetic dimension to the building's façade.
To further enhance the building's character, we used profile lights to highlight its massing, creating a distinctive presence during the night. The use of light and brick louvers not only serves as a design element but also helps to create a sense of identity for the building.
Overall, the Sumeru Project is a prime example of our design philosophy that emphasizes simplicity, elegance, and functionality. With its distinctive character and prime location, we are confident that it will serve as a benchmark for other buildings in the area.
